Pitbull - El Mariel

Pitbull released "El Mariel" a few weeks ago. It is much different than his last record, Pit sounds more mature, yet he still has his party tracks on it. I feel like I should have covered this record way more than I did. I have been looking forward to this for quite a while and I he really doesn't get the love he deserves (especially in a November packed with new albums).
On a side note I figured out what "El Mariel" is, it is the the Cuban boat lift that relocated almost 125,000 Cubanos to Florida. Here are some good bits about his new record including a link to his blog on XXL. It is a interesting read, as you would expect.

This record has been flying way under the radar. I feel that had Pitbull released this album in the summer he would have owned the entire summer. Regardless, the record will still be hot no matter when it is released, lots of spots this halloween will be a lot better thanks to Pitbull. 'El Mariel' comes out October 31st.

The Cardinals did what I expected them to do under their ace, fail to score. Tonite our most consistent pitcher goes against everything the mets have to offer. It doesn't matter how good Soup pitches tonite if we fail to score we will lose. I guess you can't expect that much out of a team that was 83-78 in the regular season. It all comes down to game seven, after tonight the Cardinals have played in more game sevens than any other team. If I am late to post tomorrow you will know why.

Meanwhile in the 'State of Hockey'

And for the most amazing thing I have seen all day, Christian Analysis of American Culture's take on movies. There is so much here to read, for example did you know that '8 Mile' has:

  • Impudence/Hate (I)
  • 162 uses of the three/four letter word vocabulary
  • 220 uses of the most foul of the foul words
  • facial piercing
  • hate rap
  • vulgar gestures
  • many foul words before a child
  • homosexual insults, repeatedly
  • vulgarities before a child
  • lying, repeatedly
  • son walking in on mom having intercourse with a live-in paramour in the living room of her trailer then she acting as though he invaded their privacy, trying to shift the wrongness of the situation on the son (the little girl was in the next room awake)

  • Ok. That's on another level.
