Mannie Fresh recently called a New Orleans radio station, Q93, to discuss his new projects for 2007. In the interview, Fresh revealed he’s signed a new deal with Jay-Z and Def Jam Records.
Mannie describes a conversation he had with Wayne a month ago:
We had some words. I asked him if he had a problem with me, because in all honesty, I never had a problem with him. So I stepped to him like a man, like, ‘Dude, the problem is not with you, so don’t take sides that don’t got nothing to do with you. I got a problem with another man, it has nothing to do with you.’ He [Lil Wayne] said, at the time, he was trippin’ and he took sides. But he reached out for his new album, so hopefully we gonna put something together and do business.
Mannie also said he has worked on tracks with T.I., Nas and Juve. He said he produced 13 tracks off the next Juve record.
There is nothing like two grown men having a public spat about who has better shoes. Steph's Starbury shoes go for $14.98 and his T-shirts and sweatshirts for $9.99. By comparison, James' Zoom LeBron IV retails for $150 and a James' T-shirts for $55. Why would King James be threatened by the Starbury shoes or Steph for that matter? Why does LeBron even need to say anything about it? The LeBron backlash started this year and it is due time. Lames made these comments about Nike in response to the Starbury brand before Wednesday's Knicks game:
I think me being with Nike, we hold our standards high, we do a great job putting out great merchandise. Great shoes, that's part of a price that's pretty high, but at the same time you're getting great quality for it.
Steph responded with these remarks upon hearing LeBron's remarks:
I laughed. I'd rather own than be owned. When he retires, he's not going to own anything. I don't think he did his homework. We're putting out the same stuff he's putting out, just at an affordable price. But I understand that he's got to say that because it's part of the business.
It should be noted that Steph is making 17 million this season while Lames is making $5.8M on the back end of his rookie-scale deal. I hope that Durant scores his 50 million dollar shoe deal and Stern and the NBA decide that LeBron is old news and we can file him with the likes of Harold Miner. Ok, that will never happen but it would be nice.
According to various sources there might be another 'Best of Both Worlds' album on the way. The two rappers that might appear would be considered by some to some to make really make up the "best of both worlds". The R would obviously be involved and one Carter might be replacing another Carter. I first received an email about this last night and then today I see mention of it at AllHipHop. The word is that Jive has sent legal paperwork over to Def Jam saying that they want to use the Best of Both Worlds title with no legal ramifications.
Remember the "Best of Both Words 3" with Baby? I imagine they could use some of the songs that were left over from that. I have three of those tracks somewhere, some additional songs also appeared on a Whoo Kid 'Spring Bling' mixtape from a few years ago. Right now these are of course just rumors, we will see how it all pans out.
Robert just dropped a youtube channel with all his videos (insert joke here). Kells really is the worlds greatest.
If the name Buddy Leezle rings a bell it is because a few weeks ago I posted a Buddy Leezle remix done by White Girl Lust.
Buddy Leezle (aka Buddy Leroy) is a globe trotting emcee who balances his time between Austin, TX & San Francisco, CA. He is a member of "club-hoppin" 215: The Freshest Kidz, Atlanta's Broady Champs, and Texas's Galaxy High. Look for him on upcoming releases with Curtis Vodka, White Girl Lust, Bird Peterson, Al Ripken and some....His "LEEZLE4HIRE" mixtape is now available on his myspace along with more music, as well as 215:TFK's "PHRE$H2DEF" and "GALAXY HIGH".
Willy Joy has been spotted all over the place and he has some upcoming shows in Chicago with some people you might have heard of. While emailing back and forth the other day about gigs and things Willy dropped this remix on me.
I didn't realize that on the 'Carter 2' Lil Wayne pulling some "Hail Mary" Pac weight.
Take this for what it is worth, as you should all hidden messages of this nature. All the information here was taken from the post on youtube by xsmallfry2go. I'm sure some readers will have some things to say about this.

Rich Boy Rich Boy [Interscope South Records/Zone4 Inc.] Buy it from itunes
I was first introduced to Rich Boy 2 years ago. Back then I thought Rich Boy was a big guy and I thought "Get To Poppin'" was produced by Timberland (it was actually produced by Brian Kidd). The hype for Rich Boy has grown since then, with no small help from "Throw Some D's" and Polow Da Don. Two years later his album was finally released and frankly, it wasn't very good. I understand why rappers still do tracks like "Good Things"- it's the third single-slow jam staple 'for the ladies'. Did he need a two of those? If you are hoping to hear more tracks like "Throw Some D's" or "Get To Poppin'" you are out of luck, he doesn't even come close to sounding as hot on the rest of the album.
The worst moment on the album comes with the first song "The Madness" produced by Rich Boy. It sounds like a parody. I maybe would have got down to this song 5 years ago. It is great that Rich Boy produces tracks, but hide that stuff at the end of the album.
This may sound like a purely negative review but it's not. There are some really great songs on here- I like about five of them; six if you can handle "The Madness". 5 out of 16 is an OK ratio considering most 'good' rap albums have around 7.
The following was taken from the Young Money Message board. With all the Wayne hate going on these days I thought this rant was appropriate. I didn't correct any of the grammar, I just edited out a few words.
I'm sooooo fuckin tired of reading these post about Wayne a ho, Wayne kissed his daddy, Wayne aint real, Wayne can't fight, Wayne gay, Wayne this Wayne that. SO FUCKIN WHAT! Who gives a fuck! this shit is about MUSIC. Albums, and Mixtapes the shit your listening to. If you don't know none of these n***** listen to the music, and stop worrying about who you think hard in the game. There's alot of bitch as n***** coming on Wayne board talking about they like other cats because they real or they the truth. If you 1 of those n***** You a BITCH ASS N****. You don't know these niggaz and you sayin he real, and this n**** a ho.
Then you got n***** who sayin Wayne fallin off he aint the same nomo.... Well why the FUCK you got more post on this fuckin board then the some of the veterans on this BITCH??? It's no way i will be on a nigga board if i aint on the n**** music. If you 1 of these n***** get a FUCKIN LIFE.
I'm from the N.O i been on wayne for a long time, and the n**** is running circles arround the competition. I ran into him a few times on the streets back in the day but i don't know the n**** personally. So if sombody have footage of a 13 year old girl beating this n**** up I don't give a fuck. I like the n**** music not him, because i don't know him. I'm just tired of downloading a song, and you got a pussy as n**** with a MILLION POST on this bitch sayin Wayne aint real.
Roll then ole pussy ass N*****
The follow up post was "Wayne must have kissed you"....
For any doubting where Wayne is at right now, why not just go have a listen to one of the tracks on the 'Drought 3'.
Some might say Wayne doesn't care and some might say that he ether'd himself on his own track.
Damn right I kissed my daddy I think they pissed at how rich my daddy is And I’m his kid I stunt with my daddy Call Mrs. Lee, she’s with my daddy So diss me and dont diss my daddy Cause who was there when no one wasn’t? Just my daddy Who was there when I needed money? Just my daddy So who’ll be there when I see the money? Just my daddy Who said that I be the one? Just my daddy! Hello Hip Hop I’m home, Its Your Daddy
I just realized that the 'Drought 3' looks like it is a double disc. You gotta love the quote on the cover, "Don't Spend a Damn Dime On This!!! I'm Giving It To You For Free"
Sorry to disappoint anyone, I wasn't planning any big surprise like a mixtape hosted by Usher or anything. I was just dealing with some things last week.
I don't know how I missed out on this Canibus cover. This cover is easily as horrific as the new Redman cover if not more. This cover is fitting to my situation right here. I had to return, I walked through the desert on my knees and nothing could stop me. I expect Canibus to get on that mic and just give a big "It's me Bitches"- I wish I had something as triumphant as that.
The 'Drought 3' is coming, and until then Young Money has posted a track as well as covers. Has anyone heard the "This Is Why I'm Hot" Lil Wayne freestyle? Discuss.
Those around a Dunkin' Dounuts remember tomorrow is free ice coffee day!

Eventually WGL will be doing a mix for Still-Listen, they have been really busy which is a very good thing.
According to Page Six Suge to pull the plug on Deathrow, what has come out on Dethrow in the last 5 years anway?
I am hearing rumors that D12 is going to release their new album 'Natural Born Killers' in June and then Eminem will release a new record in November. The fourth quarter release schedule watch begins now. The first D12 single will be out in April and I guess it pokes fun at fans that have been upset over the recent releases by D12 and Eminem. I imagine fans heads will explode when they hear this song, what to do? Can you complain about a song that is about you complaining about a song?
Speaking of release schedules- I recieved an update from Asylum and guess what album after 3 changed released dates and a changed album title is now "TBD"?
- Mike Jones 'American Dream' move from 04/03/07 to 05/08/07 - Lil Wyte 'The One & Only' moves from 05/01/07 to 05/22/07 - Bryd Gang Compilation moves from 04/24/07 to 06/05/07 - Cam'ron 'Crime Pays' moves from 05/15/07 to TBD

At the beginning of February Jus Ske's album "My Mind is Playing Tricks On Me" made the rounds on the internet. In the increasing crop of mixtapes being available for free download, this isn't one to miss. Make sure you read Jus Ske's bio at his official site if you are not familiar with him or the artists he has worked with. I had the opportunity to speak with Jus Ske amidst some NYC construction and learned quite a bit about the "My Mind is Playing Tricks On Me" album. If you haven't listened to his album there is a link below the interview.
JJ: What effect will the DJ Drama/RIAA raid have on mixtapes and on DJ's?
Jus Ske: They are crackin down, but there are ways to get around it. They will never stop it, people will find a way around it. It can be done legally, people just need to be careful. But the there is mess with the RIAA and labels, on one hand the label is saying "its cool" and then the RIAA comes after you.
JJ: What are you working on now?
Jus Ske: I am working on an album with lots of people. I'm trying to get a track with Robin Thicke and Clipse, Kayne, Dangermouse and some more. We are far along in the process, but a far way from it coming out.
JJ: Looking back on "My Mind is Playing Tricks On Me" what are you thoughts?
Jus Ske: The thing is that I could have done a better job. It was getting late and I was rushed, there are certain songs that didn't fully go together. There were songs I could hear inspired Pharrell and I really wanted to put them together. I give the album an 8/10. People tell me a part sounds wack and I tell them, "I know it sounds fucking wack". I know there are parts that are wack. The thing that sucks is, I could have made it a 10. The ball just started rolling and I had to wrap up stuff. But it could have been a 10.
JJ: It is very interesting that you were trying to match the songs up with the songs that inspired Pharrell. Any specific examples or parts that were the most frustrating?
Jus Ske: On the track 'An Airbag Saved My Best Friend' I really wanted to have Thom's voice on the chorus with Pharrell, that would have been perfect.
JJ: Being in Minnesota, I have to ask what is up with the Spymob (who are from Minnesota).
Jus Ske: I'm not sure if they are still on Star Trek, or if Pharrell will take them on the road with N.E.R.D. I do know that they are on good terms with Pharrell. The thing about Pharrell is that he never ends a relationship on bad terms, except for maybe Kelis. I don't know how he does it, but it is all very diplomatic.
JJ: Pharrell has to get out that Coldchain record.
Jus Ske: I know, he got pushed back with all the problems he has been going through with Jail and stuff.
JJ: Thanks for the time, good luck with everything keep me in the loop.
Jus Ske: Thanks
Jus Ske is going to be a name you are going to hear a lot of now and in the future. He has quite a bit going on including an energy drink, a clothing line called DanÜcht (pronounced thenewshit) as well as his weekly spot every Saturday at the Marquee in NYC. Keep up to date on his myspace as well as his official spot. Make sure you download "My Mind is Playing Tricks on Me" if you haven't.
R. Kelly - I'm A Flirt (Remix) (Feat. T.I. & T-Pain) and News
Idolator really hit the nail on the head with their 'The R. Kelly Empire Strikes Back' article. R. Kelly has been compared to a lot of things, but Zuckuss is a new one. Did anyone actually know who that was before clicking on the link?

News on the new 50 Cent album 'Before I Self Destruct'
While at a listening session for the Young Buck album Blender obtained some good bits about Curtis's new album "Before I self Destruct'.
Cam'ron dis track, "Funeral Music" will be a bonus track on Young Buck's album.
Guests are set to include Timbaland, Justin Timberlake and others.
Will be released in June.
Curtis plans on releasing another album at or around the fifth anniversary of his 12-million selling major debut, 'Get Rich or Die Tryin', in Feburary 2008.
This CD will be his last for Interscope. His deal five-album deal with the label includes an greatest hits disc will be up after that release.
Rumor has it that Gillie Da Kid is going to be signing with G-Unit. Another silly rumor was that 50 Cent was going to release his album in a couple of weeks with no promotion, just to show up Jay. Both of those things are not going to happen. Does 50 seriously think he will outsell Jay?
Young Buck might or might not have recorded a diss track towards 50 called "Buck The Snitch". I also read that the video for "Get Buck" might have entirely been shot in front of a green screen. This Young Buck stuff could get really interesting.
Do you know Bishop Lamont even is? Well, he is is offering up a mixtape produced by a bunch of people you have heard of for free.
I'm excited about selling my racing wheel for my xbox on ebay today, I can't even imagine how nice it would be able to sell some garbage for 200 million dollars. Nice job Jay, now someone else can worry about sweatpants reaching the discount racks at Marshalls.
Maybe Jay is a genius. Not only did he manage to get 200 mill for Rocawear, but he also will remain the "chief creative officer of the brand".
If you haven't listened to the Rich Boy/Mick Boogie mixtape 'The Prefix' do so. It is the first mixtape in a long time I have listened to the whole way through. Right now it is all about "Role Models" with David Banner, but still not sure about the 9 minute track "Lets Get This Paper". Listen to 'The Prefix' over at The Fader.
Here is a rare video of Dirt Dog on Howard Stern back in ‘98, the day after his infamous Grammy speech.
